Financial Assistance Program

The Board of Trustees of Heritage Christian School offers financial assistance to families who demonstrate financial need. The objective of the HCS Financial Assistance Program is to help close the gap between the amount a family can afford and the cost of a HCS education.

How is aid determined?

Each case is confidential and is evaluated by the Finance Committee. The amount of aid is based on several factors including family income, expenses, assets, and number of dependents. The amount of aid granted during any given year will vary based on pre-approved amounts of financial assistance that may be granted as determined annually by the Finance Committee. Individual families can expect to receive financial aid on tuition, depending on the amount for which they qualify. Financial Aid recipients will be required to pay Registration and Book Fees. Financial assistance is offered on an annual basis; therefore, parents or guardians must re-apply for financial assistance every school year.

What paperwork is necessary?

In order for your application to be submitted to the Finance Committee for review, ALL of the following documents must be turned in to the HCS office:

  • Re-Enrollment Agreement or New Student Application
  • Financial Assistance Application
  • Letter explaining need for Financial Assistance
  • Financial Need Worksheet
  • Community Service Events Sign-up Form
  • Copy of 2017 W-2 and Tax Returns (if 2017 tax returns are not available at time of application, please submit your 2016 returns until your 2017 returns are available)

What other requirements are necessary to be considered for Financial Assistance?

  • Applicants will be required to meet with the Principal and Business Manager.
  • All existing accounts must be current before assistance will be considered.
  • Students receiving tuition assistance must at least maintain a 2.0 grade point average and required to maintain a B average in citizenship. A suspension or expulsion will result in the loss of financial assistance.
  • All families who are receiving financial assistance are required to volunteer 30 Patriot Service Hours per year at school sponsored community outreach events. Consideration for future financial aid assistance will be contingent on fulfilling the required Patriot Service Hours.
  • All families who are receiving financial assistance are required to participate in school fundraisers, including the Gift Card Program.
  • Tuition payments must be received no later than the 5 th of each month. Accounts that fall delinquent may result in the loss of financial assistance unless prior arrangements have been made with the Finance Committee.

When is the deadline?

Returning families will be given priority consideration for financial assistance by applying before March 1, 2018. After March 1, 2018, applications (new or returning families) will be processed in the order they are received. Pre-approval of financial assistance does not guarantee admittance to HCS. What happens after the application and other paperwork are submitted? Following the HCS Finance Committee’s review, applicants will be notified by mail or e-mail of the committee’s decision. Please allow up to four weeks for the entire process. Once notified, applicants will be provided a custom Enrollment Agreement outlining the agreed-upon tuition amount. This must be signed and returned along with the non-refundable Registration Fee by the date indicated on the notification letter/e-mail. Thank you for choosing HCS.
