Community
Chapel
Heritage Christian School is deeply committed to the spiritual growth of our school community. Students, faculty, and staff gather weekly to learn about God, and worship Him through music and prayer. Chapel is intended to give glory to The God of all creation, it is an amazing time where we can be intentional about worshiping Him.
Patriot Pals
Patriot Pals is a HCS program designed to foster leadership qualities in our 5th and 6th grade student body. Through an application process, 5th and 6th grade students can petition to be a part of this program. If accepted, these students will step into a leadership role at HCS where they will lend their time and talents to assisting during key events and activities.
Outreach
Each year, Heritage Christian School sets their sights on service projects that serve local, national and international needs. Our desire is to help each student look beyond themselves and develop a passion to serve others. Below are some key organizations that HCS partners with in order to serve our community.
Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international relief organization. Their mission is to provide local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ. They ship these gifts outside the United States to children affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine, and disease; and to children living on Native American reservations in the U.S.
Royal Family Kids Camp
Royal Family Kids Camp is a 5 day camp experience that promotes physical, emotional and spiritual healing for child victims of neglect, abuse, and abandonment.
Military Support
Heritage Christian School has a strong commitment to our United States military and their families. Since the school’s founding, HCS has had an ongoing campaign to “Support Our Troops,” with needed supplies, cards, and letters. At Chapel each Friday, our students wear RED to support those military members that are currently deployed. Over the years, several classes have “adopted” military members to pray for and correspond with. These classes have had class visits by returning service members. HCS invited a local VFW Color Guard to help to dedicate our flagpole. Each year on Veteran’s Day, our main hallway on the elementary campus turns into the Hall of Honor remembering all that have served from our school families. Currently, our students are engaged in Folds of Honor – a service project to provide scholarships to Gold Star families. Heritage Christian School believes it has a calling to honor and respect all that serve.
Service Hours
Jesus told His followers in Mark 10:45, “For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve.” At Heritage Christian School, we require our Junior High and High School students to complete service hours. We want to encourage them to develop a servant’s heart and to serve one another humbly in love.
